The desire for a children’s play area was identified in the most recent Parish Survey (2022/3).
Since then, the Parish Council has been exploring potential ways to provide one – this has been discussed in numerous Parish Council meetings and presented at annual Parish Meetings.
The north-western side of the upper green has been considered as a possible site. In order to establish whether this would be legally possible, Somerset Council encouraged us to submit a planning application – this was recently done and approved. The planning application was only to establish whether use of the upper green would be permissible.
The application is not – and was never intended to be – a definitive plan. The Council continues to explore options and would welcome feedback and, in particular, attendance at Council meetings for people to present their views and suggestions. We will provide further information for consultation as and when available
