NOTICE OF CO-OPTION OF ONE PARISH COUNCILLOR

The Electoral Services Department of Somerset Council has confirmed that the regulation 10 requests from electors have not been fulfilled and the Parish Council can now fill the casual vacancy by co-option.
   
If you are interested in serving as a Parish Councillor, please write to the Parish Clerk’s office (parish.clerk@priddyparish.gov.uk) confirming that you are qualified to be a Councillor (see Appendix A of the Co-option procedure). Please include some background details about yourself and a brief explanation of why you are interested in joining the Parish Council.
   
The Council meets once a month on the second Wednesday of the month with additional meetings when required.

The closing date for written submissions of interest is 30th June 2026.

   
Candidates will be invited to speak at a Parish Council meeting on 8th July 2026 after which a vote by Councillors will take place.

Priddy is a beautiful village in Somerset, England. It is located in the Mendip Hills National Landscape, a few miles northwest of Wells. The village includes numerous sites of interest, such as the village Greens with the characteristic hurdle stack, St Lawrence church, Priddy caves, Priddy pools and Priddy mineries. Numerous walking paths are available throughout the Parish to discover some of those sites. Car parking is available next to the village hall and school, and on the gravel areas on the lower green.
